TUDOR THEATRE
TONIGHT AND MONDAY A DOUBLE PROGRAMME A fine double feature programme will be screened at the Tudor Theatre tonight and on Monday. The first attraction is "Merrily We Live," in which Constance Bennett and Brian Aherne have the leading roles. Miss Bennett appears as the spoiled and spirited daughter of a Kilbourne household, as curious, eccentric . and lovable a group of characters ever lodged under one roof. Her bright and pointed delineation of a modern girl is both amusing and appealing. Aherne's role is much broader in comedy value than any he has heretofore portrayed. His entrance as a tramp with tattered clothes and a two-day growth of beard forecasts a mix-up in identities and around this feature is built a series of events t that stamp the young British actor as a light comedian of engaging quality. Earl Derr Biggers' famous character, Charlie Chan, is played for the firsUtime by Sidney Toler in the mystery picture, "Charlie Chan in Honolulu,? which will be shown on the same programme.
Toler was: selected for the role from among hundreds of fine actors proposed to carry on the tradition of Chan's screen adventures, and according to reports from those who saw the film at ils Hollywood preview, is an excellent choice indeed.
The cast surrounding Toler in the picture includes Phyllis Brooks, Sen Yung, Eddie Collins, John King, Claire Dodd, George Zucco, Robert Barrat and Marc Lawrence.
