GIRL ON BICYCLE BITTEN OWNER CHARGED IN COURT A case of an. Alsatian dog attacking a young girl, Barbara Watts, in Cambridge on Saturday last, resulted in the appearance of Joseph Francis Stewart, in the Cambridge Court this morning, before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M. He was lined £l, with costs £1 14/-, for being the owner of the dog. A statement was read from defendant in which he said that the dog had since been shot. Constable C. H. Maisey stated that he was in Victoria Street when he saw the Alsatian run beside a girl riding a bicylce. The dog bit at the girl’s leg which bled freely. Witness sent the girl to the doctor while he followed the dog into the hotel to ascertain its owner. A statement by Dr H. C. Tod indicated that the girl’s leg had been, punctured on both sides as a result of a dog’s bite.
