CRICKET
TOWN V. COUNTRY WIN FOR FORMER TEAM During the week-end a representative cricket team from the town met the country representatives at Fencourt, the town team, winning by four wickets. The wicket was very tricky, and Country were all out in their first innings for 39. Watt was the chief destroying agent for the town and captured five wickets for 18. Town fared even worse being all dismissed for 34. J. Hoff four for five and J. Fowler, four for 8, were the most successful of the Country attack. Country did a little better in their second strike, scoring 47. Hardy 14 and W. Fowler both gave bright knocks. Bowling for Town Broderson collected five victims for 8 runs. Town needed 53 to win, securing these for the loss of six wickets and batting on had scored 91 for the loss of nine wickets. Wilson 19, Woolley 13, Boyce 13, and D. Munroe 11 not out, were the chief contributors. J. Hoff, W. and J. Fowler shared the bowling honours for Country, each taking two wickets. Scores:
