TOWN HALL TALKIES

“THIS IS THE LIFE”

JANE WITHERS’ SUCCESS Jane Withers, one of the screen’s most promising child actresses, has full scope for her talents in “This is the Life,” which will be screened at the Town Hall Talkies this evening and Monday, and at matinees on both days.

“This is the Life” is a delightful production in which humour and pathos arc most skiltully blended. It owes its success mainly to the* brilliant acting of Jane Withers, but the simple appeal of a very human story, and the fine work of the supporting cast are strong contributing factors.

Jane Withers is shown first as a famous child actress wo has everything she wants except the opportunity to romp and play like other children. Her guardians are interested only in the amount of money they can obtain from her contracts, and she receives scant consideration from them. So she jumps at the chance of accompanying a man who is a fugitive from justice, and disguising herself as a boy, she starts off on a most amusing series of adventures. John McGuire and Sally Blanc give good performances in the supporting cast.
