FRANKTON QUOTATIONS BACONERS STILL FIRM All classes of sheep were penned in good numbers at the Frankton saleyards on Tuesday. The entry comprised several pens of prime fat wethers which were keenly sought, and values improved on last week’s quotations. Fat ewes created good competition, late rates being fully maintained. Fat lambs were yarded in average numbers, and realised values on a par with last week’s quotations. A smaller entry of runners and vealers sold .at firm values. Cow and heifer beef came forward in good! numbers, and quality cattle sold at recent rates, while second quality was a shade easier. Competition for store cattle was keen, and a total clearance resulted, good prices being obtained for all classes. A heavier yarding of fat pigs came forward, the market being firm, particularly for good quality baconers, while porkers remained about equal to late sales. A good yarding of stores and weaners sold at late values.
