THE FRANKTON SALE BACONERS IN DEMAND Competition for both ewe and wether mutton was not as spirited as usual at the Frankton saleyards on Tuesday, values being easier in comparison with last week’s quotations. A medium yarding of fat lambs was penned, with an absence of prime quality. The demand was good, values being well sustained. A medium entry of cow and heifer beef came forward, and owing to a short supply of ox beef competition was keener than last week, with prices firm. Store cows, boner cows and bulls were penned in good numbers, these selling at late quotations. A small entry of vealers was disposed of at ruling rates. Buyers were offered a medium entry of both fat and store pigs. Baconers were again in demand and last week’s advanced rates were again exceeded. Values for porkers and store and weaner pigs remain unchanged. The auctioneers report as follows:
