WOMEN AT CRICKET
New Zealand women are showing their overseas sisters that they are as proficient in sport as any of them. Auckland will have ithis fact amply demonstrated on Saturday and Monday, when the Wellington women’s representative cricket eleven will play a match against Auckland at Eden Park for the Hallyburton-Johnstone Shield. The two teams will again meet next Tuesday at the Remuera grounds for the Amalgamated Theatres Shield, which was won last year by Auckland. The Wellington eleven will be captained by Miss G. Pickering, an excellent all-round player, chosen to represent New Zealand last year against the English team.
