CAMBRIDGE BRANCH MEETS
The monthly meeting of tftej Women's Division of the Farmers* : Unon was held in the Oddfellows* Hall on Monday afternoon, with a? good attendance of members and visitors. The president, Mrs E* Cooper, was in the chair. Apologies were received from Mesdames Lam-* bie, Judd and Ariell. The meeting opened with the recital of the creed and after general business had been dealt with, the* president read correspondence itt connection with the Dominion half-* yearly executive meeting, which is? to be held in Hamilton in January^ The report of the South Auckland Provincial Council quarterly meefc*> ing, held in Te Awamutu, was give* by the delegate, Mrs Leaning, and she wa& x accorded a hearty vote of thanks. * '■.■' ■ ;[' v ."' ■'■'■ "'"'V !

Mrs;*,: Houiislow kindly judged them and .resulted itt the following winners: bowl of spring flowers: Mrs Ariell 1, Mrs Nickle and Mrs Young 1 Three roses: Mrs Lambie 1, Mrs Ariell 2* One rose: Mrs Kingdon 1, Mrjs Lam-' be 2, Miss Marshall 3.

Afternoon tea/ was served, the hostesses being Radleyy Martin Q'N,#UL FENCOUIIT yfjfos&, INSTITUTE . The Fencourt Women's Institute held its ninthly meeting last Thursday, wheal Tjierney, who presid>*« ed over a large gathering of forty members, gaye aifcinieresting report of the recent conference in Hamilton. Plans for a Christmas party for children were discussed. Eacfit nember handed in a toy towards the Christmas tree. Mrs Dahlberg. was in charge of the entertaining; Mernbon, and Miss Eg O'Keefe Won the- birthday competition.
In the competition for shortbread*, Miss Campbell was first and Miss L. Bone second. The competition for a handworked handkerchief was won by Miss E. Burns, with Mrs Tierney second and Mrs Turnbull third. Mrs Duckering judged these, and gave some very helpful hints. The trading table, which was well patronised, was in charge of Miss : E. Feisst, and Miss Mona Shaw an<£ Miss M. Burns took. charge of the competitions. Afternoon tea was 5 served by the hostesses, Mrs C. Watt and Miss Nan Watt. : '
