KAIPAKI INTERESTS WOMEN'S INSTITUTE A committee meeting of the Kaipaki Women's Institute was held in the local hall on Wednesday last. Mrs A. Goodwin (president) presided. The roll call for September meeting will be "an antique or curio," and competitions will be hold for a glass vase of flowers and a novelty. It is hoped that a party of ladies from the Fairfield Institute will be, able to be present, to demonstrate and entertain.

Miss M. Boyd was chosen to represent the institute at the Daffodil Show, Cambridge, on September 20th.

Evening* for Bridal Couple

There was a record attendance of well over 100 neighbours and friends who gathered at Mr C. Garmonsway's barn on Saturday evening last, to pay honour to Mr and Mrs Pickering, a young couple who have just returned from their honeymoon. Before her marriage, Mrs Pickering was Miss Nellie Jary, the second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Jary, of Te Awamutu Road.

The barn was made to look very attractive with its decorations of greenery, and Mr and Mrs Gar-monsway received well-deserved congratulations upon the success of the evening. Dancing was enjoyed by the younger folk and several items were given, including songs by Mr S. Kite, and a vocal duct by Messrs S. and D. Kite. Instrumental item by the Garmonsway boys. Miss Kite accompanied. Community singing was also enjoyed. A Monte Carlo was won by Mr N. Trott and Miss Norby Jary.

After a dainty supper had been served, a table laden with parcels was brought in, and Mr Garmonsway asked the guests of the evening to accept them with the best wishes of all present. Mr Pickering suitably returned thanks. The evening closed with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."

death. Mr Clark's wife, who was Miss Elizabeth Garlick, predeceased him in 1913, and he is survived by a family of two daughters, Mesdames A. W. Gane and A. R. Cox, of Cambridge, and four sons, Messrs W. E. Clark (Claudelands), G. A. Clark (Cambridge), H. H. Clark (Hamilton), and A.'R, Clark (Hamilton). There are 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The funeral will leave his late residence, Williams Street, at 2.30 p.m. today, for the Cambridge Cemetery.
