SHINING SILVER.
TO KEEP IT UNTARNISHED. " If silver which is being put away is carefully stored it will not be tarnished when it is required again. , It should not be polished with a cleaning agent, but should be thoroughly washed ill' hot, soapy Water with a little borax in it. •Rinse well, dry thoroughly, and polish, with a clean, soft chamois leather. When special lined cases are available for storing the problem is easily solved. A sheet or two of blue tissue paper should be placed on the silver and the case kept closed. Where the silver is loose each article should be wiped with a rag to which a little vaseline has been applied, then wrapped separately in dark tissue paper and tied together in bundles. A
chamois leather bag is ideal for. storing the bundles, but a cotton bag .provides a good alternative. It is considered that a piece of camphor in the bag helps to prevent tarnishing.
