Advice has been received from Trinity College of Music, London, that Miss Jessie Clow, pupil of Nancye Ham-mond-.To nasson, was successful in passing Junior Division with honours, gaining 02 per cent, in the Theory Examination held last December. Miss Una Mateer, of Matamata, who is a pupil of St. Mary's Convent, Ham ilton, has received advice that .die has won the silver modal for Grade VII, of the Associated Board of the Eoyal School of Music, London. Miss Mateer scored l.°-j marks, which is but one ■ mark below the gold medalist, Miss Doris Gilmore, of Hawcra. Miss Mateer is well-known in Cambridge as a competitor at the annual competitions.
