BADMINTON
CARGILL MEMORIAL TROPHY. PRESENTED BY MOREINSVILLE MEMBERS. Members and supporters of the Morrinsvillc Badminton Club have presented a handsome silver trophy to the Waikato Badminton Association as a memorial to the late Mr W. Clement Cargill, who was a pioneer of the game in the Waikato. The design takes +he form of a silver shuttle mounted on an oak plinth, and bearing crossed silver racquets. In large silver letters- on the plinth are the words, "W. C. Cargill Memorial," and a silver plate bears the inscription: "Presented by members and supporters of the Morrinsvillo Badminton Club in memory of their president, 1930-1-2-3." The trophy was presented to the Waikato Association, which was represented by Dr G. W. Gower, of Hamilton, by Mr C. T. Gould, vice-president of the Morrinsville Club. In making the presentation Mr Gould stated that tlie trophy was to be known as the Cargill Memorial Trophy, and was for competition among the A teams of the Waikato Association.
