CAMBEIDGE TEAM DEFEATED,

The championship was won by J. L.Black, Shandon, who defeated W. S. Ralph, Auckland, in tho final 2 up and 1 to play, and thus registered his fourth siiccessive win in this event. In . the semi-finals J. L. Black beat T. Morpeth, 4 and 3, and W. S. Ralph beat L. V.' Bellingham, 4 and 3. The playing; conditions were perfect x and it is doubtful if the course has ; ever been in such wonderful order as at present. Black thoroughly • deserved his success, which he achieved in r , spite of the fact that his second "shots ' were often astray.
