SCHOOL’S BIG DAY

ANNUAL SPORTS HELD. HUNDREDS TAKE PART IN PROGRAMME. Tho Cambridge District .High School -\vsts favoured with excellent weather for tho annual sports which Were held on Thursday. There was a large attendance of pupils, about .‘IOO in all, and practically every childr was a contestant in some event or other. The teachers had a very busy time, as the running of the various events involves close attention oil the part of everyone concerned. Judging from somo of tho performances the children 1 ad apparently been in training for this fixture for somo time.

Every child cannot, of course, be a winner and school sports day is one of the first instances where they learn the sense of sportmanship. One and all bore happy countenances, even though perhaps some of them had run a bad last.

There was a large attendance of parents and friends. The children were allotted certificates for places in the various events. The. local picture manager. Mr -T. D. Mcßrearty, donated a

dozen passes to bo allotted as the teach ers deemed fit. Tho Results.
