BOWLING
SATURDAY’S GAMES. THE CAMBRIDGE CLUB. The weather was fine during the afternoon on Saturday though rain set in shortly after 5 p.m. However, district bowlers were able to get in a full afternoon’s play. There was a good attendance at the Cambridge Club’s greens, play taking place on No. .1 green. Results were as follows: Maberlv, Whitmore, Whittle and Edwin James 24 v. Trewin, Webber, McNamara ami Butler 16. Davys, Amyes, Bryce and Hulmc 20 v. Holmes, Phairn, W. Tucker and Boyce 16. .Sntyth, Speight, Edwards and W. Wilkinson 24 v. Fisher, Westlake, Mimn and Easter 15. Hooker, Rodgers, Harris and Edgar James 24 v. G. James, Allen, Lundon and Hill 16. H. 11. White, Tod and Hay 28 v. Muller, Sands and Zainey 15. Dodd, Martyn Gardiner and .J. Low 23 v. J. Hooker, Ward, F. Tucker and I)ix 12. Richardson, Linsley, J. Wilkinson and Hallidav 22 v. Nicoll, Faville, Andrew and Boulton 16. Messrs Cooper, Wallis, Pearce and S. R. James represented the club in the Howden Shield at Hamilton iEiist on Saturday, but were unsuccessful. THE LEAMINGTON CLUB. LADIES AT PLAY. The Leamington Club is considering admitting lady members and at the green on Saturday last several ladies tried their hand at “ye oldc’’ game. Results were as follows: Mrs Peppercorn, Mrs Hall, Messrs Hall and Peppercorn 14 v. Mrs Garland Mrs Nelson, Mrs Cowling and Mr H. Nelson 13. White, Thorpe, Pemberton and Cowling 24 v. McCaw, Iveeley, Young and Garland 14.
