OBITUARY

MR JOHN BIRNIE. The death occurred of Mr John Birnie, aged 81, at liis home in Remuera,this week. Mrs B. Moore, of Cambridge, is one of three of the late Mr birnie's daughters. Mr Birnie was born in Antrim, Ireland and arrived in New Zealand at the age of 15 and later commenced a bakery business in Auckland. Six of Mr Birnie's sons saw service in the War, one being killed in action. Mr Birnie is survived by a widow, three daughters and four sons.
