DADDY LONG LEGS. DELIGHTFUL EOMANCE "Daddy Long Legs" is being accorded a wonderful reception wherever screened, and when the film comes to Cam' bridge on Saturday night patrons should not miss it. It is a delight from beginning toend, and is even more successful as & talkie than as a stage play, whieli is" saying much. A great human story, combining romance, humour, pathos and action, a genuinely outstanding' cast headed by two' of the most popular players on the screen, and the other attributes of flawless direction and splendid settings serve to make the picture a real event in screen The choice of Janet Gaynor and Warner Baxter for the roles is a 'particularly happy one. Judy Abbot is an absolutely ideal part for the wistful charm of Janet Gaynor. Baxter likewise is a perfect choice for the suave,, cynical but lonely batchelor who is greatly surprised to find himself falling in love with his ward, and his handling of the part is a personaltriumph. Tina Merkel scores another hit as Miss Gaynor's delightfully erratic room-mate and young John Arlodge, a new film find gives a highly promising portrayal of Baxter's rival. Claude Gillingwatcr, Kathryn Williams, Louise Closscr Hale, and Effie Ellsler have the clher chief roles, and handle them beautifully. . The children in the orphanage scene are amazingly clever, providing rare humour and pathos. "Daddy Long Legs," will be screened on Saturday at three sessions.ami on Monday evening.
