HOUSEHOLDER'S ESCAPE FROM " DEATH. By Telegraph—Press Association. HAMILTON, Sunday. The owner of a four-roomed house in Huntly South, Mr J. J. Lcyden, had a narrow escape from death when ■ his home was destroyed by fire shortly after six o'clock yesterday morning. Mr Lcyden, who was sleeping alone in the house, was Jsvmd by neighbours shortly after the outbreak occurred lying in the backyard overcome by smoke A house close by, also owned by Mr. Lcyden and occupied by Mr L. Wilson, was menaced by the flames but was saved by the efforts of a bucket brigade.
