“GOOD INTENTIONS.” t “LADIES MUST PLAY.” ‘ < Good Intentions, ’ ’ a Fox Movietone, will be screened for the last time at the' local theatre to-night. The film is an interesting one with a vivid and gripping story of a man who rose by sheer strength of will from the slums, mouldojl himself a career of wealth and power, only to find, when romance beckoned, that all his money and power could not avoid the clutching fingers of the past that relentlessly reached forth and seized him.
Edmund Lowe and Marguerite Churchill are the featured players and give polished performances throughout. Others in. the cast are Regis Toomey, Earle Fox and Hale Hamilton; A DOUBLE STAR PROGRAMME. On Monday a double star programme commences for ,three mights, when “Ladies Must Play” and “Personnl- ■ ity” will bin screened. The former film jis an interesting picturization of the triangle theme featuring Neil Hamilton and Dorothy Sebastian, both of whom are noted for their clean-cut acting abilities. The second feature “Personality” is known to be of a high standard. i' . . “IN THE GAY NINTIES.” ! Last evening in place of “Good Intentions,” the management secured the film “In the Gay Ninties,” a hilarious comedy-drama depicting life as it was in this period. The cast is a splendid one ■ including Laurence Gray, Marion Davies and Claude (Algy) Alister. Last evening’s audience was highly pleased with the film. ...AaGood.
