A WOED or CHEER. OPTIMISTIC NOTE. By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, Yesterday. Addressing the annual meeting of the Stock Exchange, Mr C. G. Creagh, chairman, said there could be littledoubt that in a* few years, probably sooner than many people anticipated, Australia, if governed wisely* would overcome her difficulties and enter" upon a now era of prosperity. As far as New Zealand was concerned, Mr Creagh said, Stock 'Exchangebusiness had been better than in many previous years, in spite of the adverse influences and the uncertainty. They* could look forward with confidence, for ' although the Dominion had been called upon to put her house in order there could be no doubting her recuperative powers. NATIONAL RIFLE MEETING, ARRANGEMENTS FINALISED. PROGRAMME MODIFIED. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, This Day. Arrangements for the 1931 meeting" of the National Rifle Association were; finalised at a special meeting of the executive committee. A four-day meeting is to be held- in. March at Trentham. The programme; has been slightly modified as the resultof the Government’s withdrawal of agrant, but no increase ..has been madein the cost of entry. The meeting will commence on Wednesday, March 4, and conclude on Saturday, March 7. The range will be open for practice on the day prior to the commenecaiciffcof the meeting.
