CORRESPONDENCE
BOWLING TEAMS.
(To the Editor). Sir,—l read to-night with approval your comment on the selection of the two teams to represent Cambridge on Wednesday in the Hardley Shield match. Your remarks arc belated I opine, for bowling matters in Cambridge for some time past have needed caustic criticism. We do not want any "clique" element in our club, and it does seem that we aro inclined to drift in that direction. Eegarding the two teams chosen to go to Hamilton as representing Cambridge, the members are asking what these players have done to justify them again being selected —if there was any attempt at selection, and this is doubtful under the circumstances. Certainly their previous performance at Auckland did not provide grounds for their re-selection. However, they are going, and I predict that unless some radical eleventh-hour change is made, more defeats for Cambridge. What these two team have done to justify their selection appears to be known only to the selector. However, I suppose the matter will be considered at the next annual meeting. I fully appreciate the fdifKl behind that well-known bowling composition, "A Bowling Selector I Am," etc., b«t even remembering this there is no getting away from the fact there arc a number of members who are getting a little "fed-up," knowing that better men are being passed over, apparently that the club make its appearance socially with more eclat. —I am, etc.,
"FEDUP." Cambridge, March 31, 1930.
