The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd., report: — At the weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Tuesday we had a good yarding of all classes of cattle and a heavy yarding of sheep. Prime fat bullocks were firm at late rates, ' and the same can be said of prime quality young cows. Second quality and store cows sold at late rates. Fat sheep were penned in good numbers, and sold at last week's quotations, while the large yarding of store lambs showed a decided drop in price. Breeding ewes were also slightly easier. There was a full yarding of fat pigs, which met with keen competition. Baconers averaged 7£d per lb, while porkers averaged 7-}d to 7£d per lb. Dalgety and Company. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Hamilton, report on their weekly sale at Frankton salcyards on Tuesday as under: — There was a fairly large yarding of beef and prices were a shade lower than last week. Best young cows sold at up to £9 5/-; ordinary good quality fat cows at £7 10/- to £8 17/6; others £5 10/- to £6 10/-; light Jersey cows £4 -to £5 2/6. There was a small yarding of store cattle which met with a weak demand. There was an average yarding of fat sheep. Fat wethers sold at up to 30/6 for extra heavy; ordinary fat wethers 27/6; fat ewes extra good, 22/-; ordinary fat ewes 15/- to 16/6; woolly fat lambs up to 20/-. There was a very large yarding of store sheep which met with a very dragging sale and prices generally, were 2/- to 3/per head lower. The following were our principal sales:-—l3B very forward 4 and 5-tooth wethers 25/5; 128 shorn ewe lambs 13/4; 134 shorn wether lambs 10/-; 87 shorn wether lambs 13/6; 80 cull shorn lambs 6/6; 50 black faced lambs (forward) 16/9; 190 mixed sex shorn lambs 11/9; 189 4 and 5year ewes 18/9; 80 5-ycar ewes 15/6. There was a medium yarding of fat pigs with a full yarding of stores. Baconers sold at late rates, and porkers a shade easier, while stores sold at late rates. Heavy baconers £4 4/- to £4 14/-; medium do. £3 14/- to £3 18/-; best porkers £3 to £3 8/-; light do, £2 10/- to £2 16/-; choppers £2 16/- to £4 #/-; l ai 'ge stores £2 5/- to £2 9/-; medium do. £1 .17/- to £2; best slips £1 10/- to £1 14/-; medium do. £1 4/- to £1 7/-; best Avcancrs 15/- to 18/-; others 8/- to 12/-. N.Z. Loan and Mercantile. . The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Hamilton, report: — There was a large offering of beef at the Hamilton sale on Tuesday and although a good proportion was firstelass quality a further decline in values resulted. The yarding of sheep and pigs again filled all available space. Prices for fat sheep were not quite so good as last week and the demand for breeding ewes and store lambs was weaker and prices easier. We quote": Fat bullocks £l2 18/- to £l4; good fat cows £7 15/- to £8 17/6; plain do. £5 , 12/6 to £6 17/-; light heifers £6 15/-; vealers £1 19/- to £2 8/-; smaller do. £1 5/- to £1 10/-; boner cows £3 to £4 ,7/-j wcaner Jersey cross heifers £3 5/-
to £3 13/-; fat wethers £1 7/- to £1 7/9; store 4-tooth wethers £1 3/6 to £1 4/3; f.m. "Cwes with rams 17/4; shorn m.s. store lambs 11/9 to 12/6; cull do. 7/6 to 9/-. Fat and store pigs sold on a par with last week's market. Heavy baconers realised £4 7/- to £4 13/-; medium do. £4 to £4 5/-; lighter do. and heavy porkers £3 9/- to £3 16/-; porkers £2 12/- to £3 4/-; good stores £1 12/- to £1 17/-; medium do. £1 8/- to £1 ]l/-; slips £1 2/- to £1 5/-; weancrs 12/- to 16/-.
