UNITED FRIENDLY SOCIETIES EXCURSION TO ROTORUA. \ . \ The weather was ideal for the United Friendly Societies' railway excursion to Rotorua en Sunday last, three special trains from Frankton, Hamilton and Cambridge making the tiip to the thermal regions. The excursion as a whole was a great success, and the excursiuiists had a most enjoyable day. The excursion special from Cambridge was only fairly well patronised the number of excursionists being just over 150. The train left at S a.m. pickino- up a contingent of about 30 at Matangi. Other contingents entrained at Morrinsville and along the line, the train being fairly well filled by the time it reached Rotorua. The other two trains were very well patronised. A tired but happy lot of holiday-mak-ers returned to Cambridge about 10.30.
