PERSONAL.

Mrs Davis, senh, of Pukekohc, is on a visit to her relatives, Mr and Mrs J. Davis, of Princess Street.

Mr Fred Lye, M.P., will officially open the Morrinsville Flower Show tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon. Mr W. Iv. Hounscll, of Auckland, is at present managing Mr H. Possonniskie's chemist business, during the owner's absence on holiday. Mrs S. R. Wallis, of Roto-o-rangi, who was admitted to Hamilton Hospital on Saturday last, has successfully passed through an operation for acute appendicitis, and is progressing satisfactorily. The Postmaster, Mr J. C. Allen, is at present spending his annual vacation at Kare Karc on the West Coast, and is due back on the 10th March. Mr H. Skellern is acting postmaster during Mr Allen's absence. Rev. W. Grecnslade, of Christchuu-h, has been elected president of the New Zealand Methodist Church Conference. The Mayor (Mr C H. Priestley),,accompanied by his daughter (Miss Priestley) left Cambridge yesterday on a two weeks' tour of the South Island, and the Cold Lakes district. During his presence in the south the Mayor will attend the Municipal Conference, which is to be held at Invercargill on March 5. During the Mayor and Miss Priestley's absence in the South Mrs Iriestley is staying at hot beach residence in Auckland.
