SEWERAGE LOAN.
(To the Editor)
Sir, —The proposed loan for the above has not come any too soon for the safety and well-being of our littlo town. The scheme is highly desirable if only from a hygienic point of view, judging from the accident which occurred in Victoria Street a few nights ago. It has now been proved that motorists will run anything down, even to a sanitary cart. I say away with these obsolete affairs and let us have an up-to-date system that will properly safeguard the health of the community. Our rates are certainly high, but who would begrudge a little more. Perhaps, Mr Editor, we might also have a special road made for the local motorists learning to drive, and then the sheep could be divided from the goats.—l am, etc., PROGRESS.
