ENTERTAINMENTS

TOWN HALL ATTRACTIONS.

The last screening of the current programme at the local Town Hall Theatre will take place this evening. On Thursday and Friday evenings there wore large attendances, the support from Hamilton continuing to be just as generous. The present programme, on the whole, is a very good one, the big feature being the presentation of Paramount’s new Russian star, Baclonova, in the all-taking drama, “A Dangerous Woman.” This is a rather heavy drama, with the African Gold Coast as the locale. The story is an absorbing one of the torrid swamps and the fever ridden area. It presents the Commissioner of the Gold Coast district (Clive Brook) and his ravishingly beautiful wife (Baclonova). Being a Russian and depicted as such, Beclonova gives a sterling performance in the role of a dangerous woman, and one who causes the Commissioner’s assistant to ruin his life, and later to cause the Commissioner’s brother to nearly arrive at the same state of mind. Tho finale is the tragedy of a drama that is well produced. - N

A feature of the programme is the wonderfully clever of a drummer in one of the supports. He gives one of the most clever acts ever witnessed in Cambridge. Another fine support is that in which Smith and Dale render two fine tenor duets. Smith and Dalo’s items are embodied in the support, “Please Teacher,'' a delightful talking comedy. The reproduction at the local theatre now is as near perfect as it is possible to get it, the draping of the walls and other parts of the hall assisting in this connection.
