RABBIT SKINS

WELLINGTON SALE. A DULL MARKET. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report:— The final rabbit skin sale of the season was held on November 1 at the Dominion Farmers’ Institute. Owing to the slump in values at the last London sale and reports from overseas still being unfavourable competition was very dull and sales were difficult to make. The bulk of the offering was spotted and inferior winters prices showed a decided drop on our previous quoted rates. The following is the range of prices: Runners to I8d; summers to 24Au; milky to 20Ad; winters 8.,5. to second winters, 42£d; spotted winters, 381 d; winter bucks, 50d; hareslcins, 20d. Opossums: After the rabbit skin sale wo submitted a small offering of opossums, principally comprising smalls, kittens, and seconds. There was very little demand, and the offering sold at very low prices.
