On Tuesday last* nearly a hundred women, mostly members of the W.C.* T.U., headed by their president (Mrs Lee-Cowie), conducted a prayer meeting in front of the new Waitemata brewery, near Otahuhu. Prayers were offered that the Almighty might intervene and cause the brewery to be closed, or used for a flour mill or some factory.
