CROQUET

CAMBRIDGE CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the • Cambridge Croquet Club was held recently when a large number of the members were present. j The report and balance sheet were adopted. , • The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs Murray; vice-presidents, Mesdames M. Buttler and S. H. Hall; secretary, Miss Brann; committee, Mesdames Hopkirk, Short, McDermott, Hardy and T. Boyce; tea lady, Mrs -Butler. The lawns being in excellent condition, it was decided to commence play at once, and have the formal opening on Wednesday, October 26. Various minor improvements to the' pavilion and grounds were decided on. The following new members Were elected :—Mesdames Prichard, Tod, Sawers and Nixon.

Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers and to Mr Veale for his kindness in again auditing the club's accounts.
