ARAWA LODGE, 1.0.0. F. The two past immediate meeting of the brethren of the above lodge have been quite up to the usual standard which has been set by the local branch of the Order. Initiation and degree ceremonies were celebrated when seven or eight candidates participated. The first nominations for elective officers for the ensuing term were also called for. At the conclusion of the lodge business the brethren met in harmony round the supper table, and a most pleasing entertainment was provided by the following:—■'Songs, Bros. Rennie, Woolley, Hampshire and Sims; saxophone solo by Bro. Woodcock, and recitation and stories by Bros. Rennie, Chas. Walt and W. K. Reeve. “Auld Lang Syne*’ brought to a close still one more pleasant evening spent in Oddfcllowship.
LOYAL DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE LODGE. QUARTERLY MEETING. The quarterly meeting of the Loyal Duke of Cambridge Lodge (M.U.) was held in the lodgc : room, Empire .Street, on Tuesday evening, when Bro. W. H. Tripp, N.G., presided over a good attendance. Initiations. JJros. Richard Shaw and Leonard Kerry were initiated as full financial members and Sisters Amelia Nicholson, Rita Wratten, Violet Sims, and Eunice White, as honorary members. The Sick List. The sick list showed that at present eight brothers are on the sick pay of the lodge. 1 Lodge Football Match.
In connection with the lodge football match, Paeroa v. Cambridge, on October 1, Bro. R. G. Mills, P.G., suggested that it be held at Victoria Square in the form of a benefit match to Bro. E. Hall, who recently broke his leg while playing at Hamilton. The Rugby Union had offered the suggestion and were prepared to co-operate.
The suggestion was readily adopted, the match to be advertised as a lodge match. Caretaker’s Salary. The caretaker’s (Mr R. G. Mills) salary wa3 increased by 5/ per month. Deputy Organist, Sister V. Sims was appointed deputyorganist.
