KAIPAKI

TENNIS CLUB DANCE (Own Correspondent). The tennis dance, organised by the members of the Tennis Club, held on Tuesday last, was a marked success. The hail, was effectively decorated with multi-coloured streamers and greenery and the supper table in green and gold (the club’s colours). Excellent music was rendered by Mr C. Baniield (piano) and Mr Davis (cornet). The floor was good and dancing continued till well after 1 a.m. The duties of M’s.C. were ably carried out by Mr ,T. Tarr and Mr L.'Cunningham. Extras were kindly given by Miss M. Moves and Miss M. Gorrie. LADIES’ GUILD. The first gift afternoon in connection with the Ladies’ Guild was held in the hall on Thursday afternoon last, when a gift "doll” afternoon was organised by Mrs Robert Boyd and Mrs J. MgEldowney, in aid of the Christmas tree in the next bazaar. It was a big afternoon, nearly all the local ladies being present, and a fine array of dolls was displayed. The afternoon was pleasantly pqssed in competitions which were won by Mrs McKinnon and Mrs Sexton; guessing weight of cake by Mrs Fulton Cunningham and Miss Vera Walls, who tied, and shared the cake. Mrs McKinnon sweetly sang "Castilian’s Lament”; Miss Osabel Boyd rendered pianoforte items, and Miss Steenson recited "A Woman’s Heart.” A very dainty afternoon tea was served.

Boyd, B. Raisley, G. Daisley, A. Spoake, M. Spcake, A. Tapp, S. Tapp, Fraser, Bell, P. Steenson,- HelHngs, D. Bones.
