MOTOR ACCIDENT

CAR STRIKES A TREE. DRIVER FLUNG THROUGH WINDSCREEN. Mr Galbraith Wratten had a narrow escape from being seriously injured on Thursday evening, when he was flung through the wind-screen of a Ford car he was driving at the time. The accident occurred in Victoria Street, South Hamilton, opposite Messrs Valentine Ltd.’s garage, just as Mr Wratten was leaving with the car (a Ford he was driving for another person). The lights suddenly want out, and blinded by the lights of an approaching car, Mr Wratten’s machine struck a large tree on the street. The vehicle was slightly damaged, and fortunately Mr Wratten was not seriously hurt, escaping with cuts and abrasions.
