LABOUR DAY
IN CAMBRIDGE. OUTDOOR GAMES. y.< Labour Day, yesterday, passed off very pleasantly, if quietly, in the town and district, a very- large percentage of the community wending their way to the Waikato Hunt Chib’s race meeting at To Rapa. Those who resolved to have the day at home found plenty of enjoyment and healthy exercise in tennis and croquet, the various courts throughout the district being well occupied. At the Domain the Bowling Club held a local rinks tournament, about fifty members being in attendance and during the afternoon there was quite a good attendance of the public witnessing the games at the bowling greens and the tennis and croquet courts. The Cambridge Croquet Club has not yet held its official opening, this event taking place next. Saturday. Yesterday, however, there was a fair sprinkling of players present and an enjoyable afternoon way spent.
