The Rev. A. C. Hampton, of Waipu, was, on Thursday last, inducted into the Matamata pastorate.
Miss M. K. Given, who has been in charge of tho Walton post office since 1904, retires at the end of this month.
Mr Henry Lowe yesterday was reelected chairman of the Thames County Council.
Mr J. C. Miller was re-elected chairman of the Hauraki Plains County at yesterdav’s annual meeting.
Yesterday Mr J. W. Anderson was unanimously re-elected chairman of the Matamata County Council 1 for the twelfth term.
Mr W. ,T. Holds worth lias been reelected chairman of the Auckland Electric Power Board, and Mr 8. J. Harbutt deputy-chairman.
At the annual meeting of the Bowling Club on Tuesday evening last, Mr Geo. E. Clark, sour., was re-elected patron of the Club, while Mr T. F. Richards was elected as president.
Rev. Goldie and two Solomon Island boys, who have been making a tour of the North Island in the interests of the Methodist Foreign Mission work, left Rotorua on Tuesday last for Auckland, on their return to the Solomon Islands.
At the annual statutory meeting of the. Waipa County Council, held at Ohaupo yesterday, Mr Stewart Reid was re-elected chairman of that body. Highly complimentary references were made of the excellent work done by that gentleman.
