On Sunday last, Mr Gardiner, one of our local anglers, landed a very fine rainbow trout, -weighing lOilbs. He was \tshig an Archer spinner and enunga in the rapids just opposite the power house. The fish took about 35 minutes to land, and during most of this time it was towing nearly 100yds of line in the rapids. It proved to be a very fine specimen, and of perfect shape. Prior to hooking this fish, Mr Gardiner had another, which he judged to be about 71bs, on for about 15 minutes. Theso big fish can be seen edging along the side of the very fast water, but as a rule are very difficult to hook.
