WAR MEMORIAL
UNVEILING ON DECEMBER 11. BY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL The Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe, has wired the' Cambridge District War Memorial Committee, accepting their invitation for him to visit Cambridge and unveil the District War Memorial on December 11th next. The work in connection with this memorial is nearly finished, the sculptured work being now in position. The architect has made some slight altera tions and improvements to the original design. It is now propo'seel to make suitable narrow beds, with plains, on either side of the. pond, to prevent the possibility of children falling into the water. Other slight improvements are also being effected. When completed, the memorial will bo a very worthy one.
In connection with this matter, there is a deficiency of about £2OO in the money 'available. The committee is most, anxious that the Memorial be paid for before the unveiling ceremony, and will be glad to receive donations with that object in view.
