PEDIGREE JERSEYS
MR C. CARE’S HERD DISPERSAL SALM The dispersal sale of Mr C. Care’s herd of registered pedigree Jeisevs, conducted on his property, Reynolds’ Settlement, Cambridge, yesterday by the Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, was in every way a most successful one. In all, 37 lots wore offered, consisting of cows, heifers, bulls and calves. Of these, the only lots that were not disposed of were the two big bulls, Willowbrook Lord, (VMS, and .Eileen’s Victory, 12428. There was a very large representative gathering of buyers from all parts of the North Island, and bidding was very spirited. Mr Care is very satisfied with the success of the sale. The top price was paid for the cow Gold Bell, 7179, by Mr F. W. Walters, of Waitoa, the figure being 141 guineas. The average price for the whole herd was 42J- guineas, which is very satisfactory, seeing that this includes two-year-old heifers and yearlings. The following is a list .of the prices received for the various animals: — COWS. Corunna, 35«3-A. E. Peppercorn, Cambridge, Signs. ’ ; Lady Dudu, 12582—A, E. Watkins, Takanini, 77gns.
