ANZAC DAY
OBSERVANCE AT CAMBRIDGE PRELIMINARY ARRANGEMENTS A meeting; of the local ministers, convened by the Mayor (Mr S. Lewis) was held recently, when the matter of Amzac Day observance was dealt with. It was resolved to hold the annual combined: service at the Town Hall on Wednesday, 25,th inst., at 2 p.m., and matters of detail were discussed and settled.' ."■ , '."*.
At the meeting the Vicar (Rev. Mortimer Jones), drew attention to the fact that the graves, of several soldiers at the Hautapu cemetery were still unmarked. Tlwse-present thought it anything but creditable. to whoever was responsible .that this matter had been neglected so long. There was some little doubt as.to who was really responsible, and it was decided < J to write to the Borough Council, drawing attention to the neglect, and asking_■- that steps be taken to remedy it. Doubtless the Borough Council will see that the matter is given attention immediately.
