NAPIER WOOL SALES PRICES STILL RISING (By Telegraph—Press Association) NAPIER, Jan. 12. The second of the Napier wool sales opened this morning before the largest attendance of buyers ever seen at Napier, over ■7O being present. Bidding was very keen and prices were beyond all expectations, all valuations of sellers being exceeded. All classes of wool were in demand, but the lower sorts were most sought after, prices being a penny to twopence better than the November sales here. Thirty-sixes to forties were up a penny half-penny, 46 s to 48’s a penny to twopence. There was not much improvement in the superior lots, but . any difference was in the sellers’ favour. All the lower qualities excited much attention and pieces are up lid to 2d on the last Napier sales. Hoggets were as high as 2d above the last sale' as' also were lambs. TALLOW SALES Messrs 1 Dalgcty and' Co., Ltd., have received' the following: cable from their London office under date 10th inst.: Market rather quiet. Offered 1310 casks; sold 600. Prices unchanged.
