CAMBRIDGE STOCK SAKE _________ * Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report:— On Monday last we held our Cambridge stock sale. There was a fair yarding of all classes of stock, and a good sale resulted. Fat steers made £7 10/, £7 9/ and £6 4/; fat cows £5 14/ to £3 .15/ according to quality; store cows £2 to £3 5/; bulls £4 2/6 to £1 15/; dairy cows £5, £4 2/6; heifers in milk £8 5/; calves made 27/, 29/, 32/; forward conditioned lambs made 18/ to 17/9; small stores 15/ to 14/3; aged ewes 16/5 to I§/1, Mostly store pigs yarded, which sold from 15/ to 33/j weanoya W to WA.v
HAMILTON STOCK SALE
The Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report: — At Hamilton sale on Tuesday last we had a small yarding o£ sheep and cattle, but pigs were in good supply. The demand for sheep of all classes was exceedingly brisk and all lots submitted were cleared at auction. Fat ewes made from 25/ to 27/9; good fat lambs to 30/6. The beef pens were well filled and values advanced sharply. Competition was good throughout. Steers made from £6 10/ to £7 6/ for medium cattle; small steers £5 10/; forward cows £3 17/. A good line of 4-yeai”store steers was penned and sold under excellent competition at values much in excess of previous sales. Shorthorns made from £5 7/ to £6 2/6; P. Angus £6 7/; empty cows also showed improvement, a pen of small framed sorts making £2 10/; bulls sold at from 17/ to £2 18/ according to size. A good yarding of pigs was offered and all cleared at the following prices. Heavy baconers showed a slight improvement on last week’s rates, making from £3 5/ to £3 12/; medium £2 16/ to £3 1/; good porkers to light baconers £2 11/ to £2 15/; medium porkers £2 5/ to £2 9/; light £2 to £2 3/; small and unfinished porkers 27/6 to 31/; choppers £2 10/ to £2 19/; slips 14/ to 18/; best weaners 13/ to 15/; small 6/6 to 10/6. Extra choice dairy Jersey heifers close to profit made up to £l4 5/; medium quality dairy cows £4 to £5.

At Frankton yards on the 9th inst. wc had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Both classes met with good competition, and practically, everything sold under the hammer. Prices realised were: Fat forward ewes £1 4/ to £1 5/; fat lambs £l4/ to £1 6/. A line of fat bullocks sold readily, making from £8 1/ to £8 5/i fat cows from £4 15/ to £6 Vi medium cows £3 10/ to £4 10/; store cows £1 19/ to £2 10/; empty Shorthorn heifers £2 10/ to £3; empty Jersey heifers £3 10/ to £5 6/; ,2-1-year steers £2 15/; cows and calves '£4 to £4 5/.
Messrs Dalgety .and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual Weekly stock sale at Frankton snleyards on Tuesday last, as under:—
There was a moderate yarding of sheep, which sold under keen competition at increased rates. Fat wethers 29/3 to 29/11; prime heavy ewes 27/; fat mixed sex sheep 27/9; fat lambs 24/ to 26/6. Beef sold under keener competition at advanced rates. Fat cows heavy £4 15/ to £5 10/; medium weight cows £3 3/ to £4 5/; forward conditioned cows £2 10/ to £3 2/; backward store eoivs 30/ to 40/; 2-ycar old heifers in calf £4 10/; yearling heifers £2 7/6; dairy cows at £8; bulls £2 10/ to £3. Pigs sold at late rates. FAT STOCK MARKET KEEN DEMAND AT WESTFIELD. At Messrs Buekland and Sons', Ltd. weekly fat stock sale yesterday at Westfield the supply of beef numbered 502 head, comprising 355 steers, 131 cow r s and heifers and 16 bulls. There was again a keen demand and last week's advance w'as easily sustained. Extra choice ox sold to £1 7/; choice and prime £1 4/ to £1 6/; ordinary and plain, £1 2/6 to £1 3/6; prime young cow and heifer beef, £1 to £1 5/; ordinary cow beef, 15/ to 18/; rough beef 12/ to 14/.
Extra heavy prime steers ranged in price up to £l4; heavy prime steers, £lO 10/ to £l2 10/; lighter prime steers £9 to £lo* 5/; light prime steers £7 to £8 15/; unfinished and small, £1 10/ to £6 15/; extra heavy prime young cows and heifers. £6 15/ to £7 15/; heavy prime young, cows and heifers £6 to £6 6/;; lighter,- £4 15/ to £5 15/. Others, £2' to- £4 IQ/} bulls, £1 10/ to £6 17/6. The highest average was obtained by Mr 11. R. Heed, Waerenga, whose 15 steers' made £ll' 9/ per' head.
