GQQD-BYE TO REV. TURNER

CHILDREN'S GATHERING

On Saturday evening last the children of St. Andrew's Sunday School mustered in force at St. Andrew's Hail to bid good-bye to the Rev. C. W. Turner, who is about to leave the district, and who is a great favourite with the children, as well as with all classes of the community. A programme of twenty four short items, comprising recitations, songs, a play by the children, "That Naughty Boy," was much enjoyed, while the chief item of the evening was by "Claude." Mr Turner's famous talking doll, which was in great form, the children being delighted with Mr Turner's, clever "turn." During the evening Mr Turner was presented, on behalf of the Sunday scholars, with a beautiful pocket leather case and diary, and a fountain pen, a neat speech being made by little Miss Muriel McLean, one of the smallest members of the primary school. Mr Turner suitably responded. A capital gathering dispersed at 0.40 p.m. LAST NIGHT'S FAREWELL Last night; the Parish Hall Jit Cambridge was packed to the doors, when the Cambridge people bade farewell to the Rev. Turner, and made him a haudsome presentation. A full report of the proceedings is held over till our next issue.
