MONAVALE

CHILDREN’S EVENING A most successful children’s party was held at Monavule last Friday night. When the hall was opened last month the children were promised n share in the festivities, and a general wish was expressed to have something for children only. The mothers of the district, with Miss McLoughlin (the head teacher), got together and as a result a most pleasing evening was tendered to the kiddies. Entering into the spirit of fun. they came ‘‘dressed up” not altogether in fancy dresses, but as far as possible they made the affair one ol ! sport. A tree was placed in one end of the room on which wore hung bags of sweets, and every child secured at least one of these. With their teacher they went through several fancy dances, indulged in various games, recited, and took part in community singing. Altogether the evening was voted a. great success and, like Oliver Twist, the children are looking for more.
