PRICES POE BUTTER-PAT The phenomenal advance in the ,priee of butter in London will be of great advantage to New Zealand producers, coming as it does at a time of year when prices were expected to be lower than when the first shipment of the New Zealand season arrives, in December or January—-the northern midwinter. The New Zealand Dairyman, has compiled an interesting table showing the average 'price paid for butterfat during the last 20 years, It is as follows:'—

How much higher the return for .butterfat will be it is difficult to say, as the .1921-22 season lias been, greatly extended, the Dominion production of butter and cheese.expressed in terms of butterfat for the 10 months ended May 31 was 00.85 per cent, greater than for the corresponding ten months , of 192021. There has been a remarkable re-, covcry from the slump of December last, when the Imperial Government decided to sell all . its old butter, some 8(50,000 boxes of Australian and New Zealand, which were finally bought by London houses, and much., of it sent to the Continent. , t Prom that time the market recovered.
