OBITUARY
DR. H. DEAN BAMFOBD A DISTINGUISHED LAWYER Tho death occurred late yesterday afternoon at his residence “Wharerimu,” Queen Street, Cambridge, of Dr Harry Dean Bamford, LL.D., a highly esteemed member of the legal profession of this country. Dr Bamford, who had been in ill-health for some months, took up his residence in Cambridge in January, after having been prominently associated with the Auckland Law Society, the Auckland University College Council and the King’s College Board of Governors for many years.
Born at Nelson in 1878 his parents, Mr and Mrs Edwin Bamford, both of whom are still living, decided on a course of education for their son at Napier High School, and latterly at the Auckland Grammar School. After taking his degree Dr. Bamford entered into partnership with Mr Alan Sinclair Brown, with offices in the Bank of New Zealand buildings, Auckland City. In 1914 the deceased married Miss Jean Richmond, second daughter of the late Mr and Mrs Richmond, of Epsom, Auckland. Mr Richmond himself, to the time of his death, was a highly esteemed barrister and solicitor and a partner of the well known Auckland firm of Hesketh and Richmond. Much sympathy is extended to Mrs Bamford and their two children, a boy and girl of four and five years, by a very large circle of friends. The parents, Mr and Mrs Edwin Bamford reside at Kemuera. The ipterincnt will be held at Auckland.
