OBITUARY
MR ALFRED CUBIS death occurred, at his son's resilience, Goodwood, this morning, after a tl6ng and painful illness, of an old and highly, esteemed resident of Cambridge in the person of Mr Alfred Cubis, aged SQ years. ' Mr Cubis was borne in Australia, but came to New Zealand as a boy, and resided in the Waikato ever since. He was the pioneer settler of the Pukerimu district where he lived for many .years. Afterwards he and Mrs Cubis conducted ri|fte_ Kenilworth boarding- "'' house in t2axS>bridge for a number of ' years. • Deceased was most popular with all, ; being of a kind and genial disposition, a keen sport, ever willing to help anyone in trouble, and a real friend to ■' many. He leaves a widow and a family of ten —six sons and four daughters—to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father. The sons are Messrs Bert, Harold, Len, Kay, William and Wilfred, and the daughters Mesdamcs Alex. Ward, David Williamson, T. Rus;,.scll and O. Rowc. All are living in rtho district. There are also 21 grand- - children living. .
