The Pith Waikato Regimental Band played several selections iu the Cambridge Domain last evening, and the largo attendance of the public appreciated their efforts. There are still a splendid lot of Begonias for sale or inspection at Mr C. C. Buckland’s, Monavale. The proceeds are in aid‘of the Cambridge Women’s Patriotic Fund. “That regiment must have beautiful complexions, ’ ’ said Mrs Blinks. ‘ * What regiment, my dear?” exclaimed Blinks in astonishment. “I mean the Coldcream Guards I’ve heard so much about. ’ ’ Magistrate (to prisoner): “Have you any visible means of support?” Prisoner: “Yes, sir, your honour. (To his wife, a laundress): Bridget, stand up so that the Court kin see yez.” , Teacher: “How is it that you (are late this morning; Johnnie?” Johnnie; “Please, mum, a burglar has been caught in the East End, and mother sent me to the police-station to see if it was my father.” Pedlar; “Wouldn’t you like some mottoes for your house, pium?
