PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD

A meeting of this authority was held yesterday, Mr John Fisher (Chairman) presiding over a full attendance of members.

The tender of Mr Richard Ching for the lease from year to year of sections 172 and 17b', Leamington, two acres, at £3 per annum was

accepted. The action of the Chairman and Mr Norrish in accepting Mr C. Teddy's tender of £27 for the erection of the Mill road bridge was ednfirmed. Notice was received from the Depar! meat of Public Works that a public road had been proclaimed in the Punui Survey District within the Board’s district. Mr Holbeche, in company with his solicitor, waited on the Board and made application for a road adjoining his (Mr Hclbeche’s) property to be taken over by the Board. —The 4 Chairman and Mr Bertleaen were empowered to inspect and to deal with tho request. The Clerk was instructed to secure particulars of Counties in which bylaws were in force for “wide wheel” traffic.

The Chairman's action in arranging lor the metalling of Puahoe road fmm the factory to Thompson’s corner was approved.
