LARGE TIMBER SALE.

Auckland, this day, A large timber sale has just been effected by Messrs Macklow Bros., who have been connected with Hie milling industry in the Auckland Province for the past thirtv years, and who are retiring from business. They are selling off the remainder of their timber holdings, and sold to Cashraore Bros., Ltd., the timber rights on the Whakarara Block, North Auckland, estimated to contain over 6,000,000 feet of standing kauri, and the timber rights in the Ramarama Valley, estimated to contain 1,500,000 feet. The Whakarara kauri forest is described as among the best still remaining in the North, being all green trees. The value of the timber sold in tho two blocks is over £14,000.
