THE LATE DU. F. T. BUTLER.

General regret has been felfe in Weste by the death of Dr. Frederick Thomas Butler, which occurred on the 7th of January, at 222, Weaate-lane. Dr. Butler had been in practice in Weaste for some years, and has endeared himself to a large number of friends. In consequence of ill-health he left the district about four years ago and settled in New Zealand. Unfortunately the change had not the effect that was desired, and he returned to this country in the summer of last year. In November he, together with Mrs Butler, and their young son, came to Weaste, and, as already stated, died there. Dr. Butler qualified for the medical profession in London about eight years ago, and shortly aferwards started to practice in Weaste-road. During the time of his stay in Weaste he was an active member of the Weaste Congregational Church, and was held in high esteem by all with whom he came into contact. While in New Zealand he was in practice at Cambridge, in the Auckland province, and quickly established there a reputation for skill and kindness. The funeral took place on January 10th. The service was held at the house in Weaste-lane, and was conducted by the Eev. T. Ormerod, B.Sc. The interment was at Stretford Cemetery, at which Mr Ormerod officiated. The coffin was of polished oak mountings ; the plate bore the inscription, “ Frederick Thomas Butler, M.R.C.S., L.R.C.P., died January 7th, 1907, aged 35 years.” There was a large number of floral tributes from relatives and friends. At Weaste Congregational Church, on the following Sunday morning, fitting reference was made to the deceased gentlemao.
