At the Auckland races R.C. Spring meeting on Saturday, Zimmerman won the Great Northern Derby paying a dividend of £2 2s; Necktie the Midsummer Handicap £4 5s ; Sir Tristram the County Stakes £4 17s; Akarana the Racing Club Handicap, £7 17s ; Uranium the Maiden Handicap, £6 13s, and Leonator the Glasgow Handicap with a dividend of £2 6s. On Wednesday Fontenoy won the Goodwood Handicap, paying £4 4s; Campaigner the Sylvia Handicap, £4 11s; Waipuna scored in the Grandstand Handicap from Akarana and King Billy, paying £4 19s ; Zimmerman paid £5 3s in the Royal Stakes, Downfall and Glenculloch finishing behind him. At the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting on Monday Mr E. J. Williamson’s Eureka iinishcd first in a field of eleven in the Tramway Trot, and paid a dividend of £4 13s. V At the Eangitikei races on Tuesday, the Jubilee Cup of U miles was won by Mr Prosser's Marguerite in 2m. 6 2-55., a New Zealand record. The owner presented the cup to the jockey Jenkins, in recognition of many years’ service.
